These have to be the cheapest quality knives I've ever encountered. I got these from Amazon on their "today deals" so it seemed like a really good deal given the positive reviews posted about them and the discount from the original price. I already had a pair of Henckels shears that I liked so I figured even if the rest of the knives were junk, I would at least have another pair of shears [that I liked]. this is the most expensive knife set i ever purchased so i wasnt too sure what to expect. while the knives do work; maybe i'm using the wrong ones to cut the wrong things. slicing a green pepper the other night turned out to be a real pain because the knife wasnt cutting through the back skin of the pepper. again, it is probaby just my lack of expertise, but i was suprised that these where not nearly as sharp as some of my cheap knives. like the other reviews so far, this is not a quality product that one would expect when purchasing something from the Henckels brand. Lightweight and weak - the blade has started to rust after sitting in the sink over night - very disappointed with this purchase

I got this set of knives when they were one of the Lighting Deals. They were really cheap, and other reviews were okay so I went ahead and got them.
I have mixed feelings about them. Two are very blunt (a small 'skinning' knife and the small kitchen knife). There is no way to make them sharp. Therefore they are sort of useless.
The rest work well and I am happy with them. I still got 6 pieces of cutlery that do their job at a discounted price so I didn't return them nor plan on.

I was excited to purchase these knives as a Gold Box special.
When I got them, I found them not to be up to Henckels standards. Then I noticed that they were made in China.
The first thing that I noticed about the knives is that they are much lighter weight that J.A. Henckels knives made in Germany.
